Interview tips

As part of our Culture and Values, we seek to employ candidates who share our Values and can demonstrate that they live and breathe our Culture, which is one of the main areas we focus on during the interview process. We would therefore advise you to be yourself throughout the interview process, as we want to see the real you.

Although each interview is structured to ensure consistency, we ensure that interviews are as conversational and relaxed as possible.

Don’t be afraid to come armed with a list of questions, even ones you think we will automatically answer without you needing to ask. We like people who bring lists with them!

Do your research on the Firm, our Culture, the people you will be meeting and the role. If you are a student make sure you do your research on the qualification.

What to expect

We hold a two stage interview process for most roles, which includes structured competency based questions on topics such as communication and teamwork at first interview, and we make every effort to ensure the interview is a two way conversation as this is an opportunity for the Firm to sell ourselves to candidates in as much as it is for candidates to make a good impression on the Firm.

Depending on the role, you may be asked to prepare a short presentation on a specific topic, or complete a technical case-study or written test.  These are all fairly standard and the chances are that the person interviewing you will have had to do exactly the same when they joined the Firm.

Within your first few days with us you will meet your Mentor and the team you will be working closely with, have a tour of the building, receive an induction plan and learn more about the Firm.

We know that very few people enjoy filling out forms, but this is an important part of our induction and will be as painless as possible. You will also be required to complete essential Money Laundering training, which will take place within your first few days.

As well as being able to ask your colleagues, Mentor and the HR team questions about your role, the Firm etc, you will also have a ‘buddy’ who will support you as you settle in to your role and find your way around our systems, procedures and get to know who everyone is.
