York Accountancy Firm Garbutt + Elliott Announces Expansion Plans and Reveals New Brand
York accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott has launched a new brand and website to mark the start of its expansion strategy.
The two have been introduced following a review by the firm of its positioning within the regional marketplace to assist in implementing its growth plans.
Russell Turner, Garbutt + Elliott’s managing partner, explained: “We have built our business by being totally committed to providing exceptional client service and understanding the needs of entrepreneurial business owners. Our clients know we are much more than accountants. We become part of their team, dedicated to helping them achieve their business and personal goals.
“This distinct approach is the difference that defines us a firm, so we wanted to communicate it with greater clarity and power. We’ve done this by refreshing our visual identity and replacing the ampersand in our logo with a plus sign.
“We chose this symbol as it both demonstrates we are more than just accountants and illustrates the positive impact we deliver. With the new brand and website we are ideally placed to begin our controlled growth strategy.”
Garbutt + Elliott was established in York over 150 years ago. Today, the firm has offices in York and Leeds and employs 104 people, including eight partners.
Working predominantly with owner-managed businesses based throughout Yorkshire, Garbutt + Elliott operates across a diverse range of sectors including retail, manufacturing, food, brewing, creative arts, property, construction and horse racing. Over the course of the past 12 months, the firm acquired more than 300 new clients.
Current Garbutt + Elliott clients include York Racecourse, Bill Plant Driving School, Kennedy’s Bar & Restaurant and concrete block and block paving manufacturer Plasmor.
Commenting further on the firm’s plans, Russell said: “We have a clear strategy which includes organic growth combined with acquisition of niche practices which complement our offer.
“We have high calibre sector specialists working for us and want to be able to continue to provide our clients with a dedicated team that truly understand their business and the markets they operate in. Our recruitment and acquisitions will be driven by that need.
“As a firm, we must continue to be forward thinking, personal and different in everything we do because that is what has set us apart. These three values are fundamental to our success and determine the way we work with our clients to benefit them and their businesses.
“We will now start to further raise awareness of Garbutt + Elliott’s distinct, highly effective approach with the aim of becoming the accountancy firm of choice for Yorkshire’s entrepreneurs.”
