We’re guiding runners in the York 10k for charity
We are linking up with members of the York Blind and Partially Sighted Society to take on the York 10K challenge on Sunday August 2nd.
Four employees out of a team of 20 will be guiding runners who are blind or partially sighted around the course. The Garbutt + Elliott team will also be fundraising for York MIND, one of the firms chosen charities for 2014/2015 and an independent provider of high quality mental health services in York and its surrounding area.
Nigel Shaw, partner and head of corporate social responsibility at Garbutt + Elliott, said: “We have set ourselves a target of £1,000 and are over half way but still need support. We are urging people to get behind our team and donate to this amazing charity via our JustGiving page.
”With some members of the team acting as a guide we are hopeful in reaching our goal. We are delighted with the support we have received and wish all the runners the best of luck and success.”
The York race comes shortly after employees from the Leeds office completed the Leeds 10k and raised £1,055 for Candlelighters, another of the firm’s chosen charities.
Working predominantly with growing and entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses based throughout Yorkshire, Garbutt + Elliott operates across a diverse range of sectors including retail, manufacturing, food, brewing, creative arts, digital media, property, construction, horseracing, charities and not-for-profit.
