Garbutt + Elliott expand Leeds office into new 4500sq ft premises
The moves come after a record year, which has seen 45 new starters, including one new Partner, join the now 156-strong practice. The Leeds office has seen 10 new employees join the team this year, expanding their Accounts and Audit, Private Clients, Corporate Finance, Business Tax and Operations teams. The relocation allows for the firm to continue its headcount growth across all areas whilst providing a fantastic environment and excellent surroundings for staff and clients to work and meet.
During its last financial year, Garbutt + Elliott saw its turnover increase by 19 per cent to £7m and this trend has continued in the new financial year. This was driven by a series of significant new business wins, including several high calibre Leeds and regionally based businesses such as Tates Fuel Oils, Innergy, Network Medical and the Vendor Initiated Management Buy Out of SCS Group.
Commenting on the relocation, Garbutt + Elliott Managing Partner, Russell Turner, said, “The growth in our Leeds based team has meant that we have outgrown our previous office, so along with our York office move we have relocated to a beautifully redeveloped space. The refurbishment work we have carried out has created an impressive, exciting and functional working environment. It allows for an open and friendly working culture, giving opportunity to bring both offices closer together by means of hot desking spaces and collaborative break out areas. The completion of both moves marks a huge milestone for the company, its employees and customers who will all benefit from the opportunities this expansion presents.”
Commercial property lawyer, Jonathan Moore, of Lupton Fawcett advised on the lease. The team’s hard work, patience and perseverance was very much in line with the ethos of Garbutt + Elliott, who pride themselves on working with excellent people, both in their own team and externally.
As part of the move Garbutt + Elliott has donated all the furniture and office equipment, that they no longer require, to various charities, including Emmaus homeless charity, St John’s Ambulance Service and York City Football Club. Across both office moves the company has donated a vast amount items including desks and chairs, meeting tables, computers and various other subsidiaries. Garbutt + Elliott pride themselves on having a strong CSR team and helping the local community where possible. The donation of these items has allowed local charities and initiatives to save valuable funds on purchasing them, meaning they can re-direct their money to more vital areas of their work.
