GARBUTT + ELLIOTT COUNTS £18,000 SUCCESS OF ANNUAL CHARITY FUNDRAISING
Yorkshire accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott has raised £18,000 for its two charity partners following a series of fundraising events over the past 12 months.
Donations have been made to York Against Cancer and Leeds Children’s Hospital Charity, with each charity receiving £9,000. Both charities were chosen by Garbutt + Elliott employees for the valuable work they do in providing crucial services to people suffering life-threatening conditions and ill health throughout Yorkshire.
In order to raise the sum, the York and Leeds-based firm’s employees undertook a series of events throughout the course of the year. These included tackling the tough terrain of the 24-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge and a gruelling four-hour 35-mile bike ride from Leeds to York, which raised over £10,000.
York Against Cancer is a small, independent charity that provides help and support for cancer patients and their families in York and throughout North Yorkshire, as well as funding vital research and education programmes aimed at preventing and curing cancer in the future.

The team at Garbutt + Elliott has really gone all-out in their fundraising efforts. This money will go a long way in helping people in the region and their families who are affected by cancer.”
Leeds Children’s Hospital Charity is part of the Leeds Cares charity family. The charity’s vision is to help enable the best possible health and wellbeing for children and young people, and the best possible support for their families. Valuable funds go towards cutting edge equipment and specialist staff, ground breaking paediatric research, and education and training for staff. The charity’s current priority is raising valuable funds for the complete redevelopment of Leeds Children’s Hospital, supporting the vision for a world leading Children’s Hospital building in the heart of Leeds city centre.

Each year staff from Garbutt + Elliott select which charity partners the firm will work with. Last year the practice raised £15,000, which was surpassed by this year’s total of £18,000.
