Corporate 10k Champions

Just days after we pounded into victory at the Jane Tomlinson York 10k and there are still some aching legs in the offices.

Delighted to say Garbutt + Elliott came first in the BHP Corporate Champion Challenge with our fastest runner, Luke Robinson hitting the finish line in 00:40:50!

Every year we join in the York 10K and year on year our team keeps growing, this year they braved the very warm conditions to support our chosen charity. We have set the fundraising target at £2000 to help the incredible charity who relies heavily on support from local business and individuals to be able to provide the amazing services that they offer.

We have so far raised 75% of our target for York Special Care Baby Unit with a huge £1,515. York Special Care Baby Unit provides relief, care and treatment of premature and sick new born babies, by assisting with the purchase of specialised medical equipment, improving amenities and facilities, providing emotional support, financial assistance with travel costs, supporting parents and siblings, and supporting the education and vocational training of staff on the unit.

Nigel Shaw, Partner and head of corporate social responsibility at Garbutt + Elliott says “with over 30 runners from the firm taking part in the York 10k Corporate Challenge I thought we would have a good chance to finish in the top 5 – but to complete the event in first place was a great team effort. Not only from our “Fast Three”  but also quite a few of our runners doing a 10k for the first time. Some great runs on Sunday in tough conditions. We’ll be back to defend our trophy next year”
