ICAEW Release Charity Audit Insights Report
The third sector plays an increasingly important part of everyday life in the UK, bridging the growing gap between the public and private sectors with more and more people relying on the work of charities.
Despite the importance of the sector, there remains a disconnect between what charitable organisations actually do, how they operate and are managed and the public perception of what they do and their governance arrangements.
The ICAEW have released a report setting out a series of recommendations which are aimed to help charities demonstrate their impact and achievement, increase transparency and to help them become increasingly resilient.
Although this document is badged up a an “Audit insight” the recommendations are directed at trustees, regulators, auditors, advisors and those who fund charities. It is also relevant to charities of all sizes, not just those with income over the audit thresholds.
