Those engaged in professional life are working harder, and often with longer hours, to keep pace and stay ahead. Sometimes this can mean that professionals do not have the time or inclination to focus on the running of their own business as much as they may like or need to.
The Professional Practices Unit was established partly in recognition of the growing demands placed on modern professional people, but also to concentrate the necessary expertise in offering business advice, as well as meeting most routine accounting and taxation needs. We act for many professional firms, with a number of clients engaged in each particular profession. This means that we can make the collective experience and expertise of those staff who concentrate on advising professional people available to all professional clients.
Many professions have their own set of regulatory controls and accounting rules and procedures that must be carefully observed. This is obviously a key part of our service, but beyond that our staff are always keen to help with business advice, whether strategic or on day to day administration and management issues.
We are also a part of LegalPlus, Services for Solicitors, which is provided by Praxity, AISBL. This provides additional support for legal practices, particularly with regard to practice management issues and benchmarking. The service provides comparable information upon legal practices within specific legal sectors where available. Additionally we can provide Lexcel Consultancy Services, to solicitors looking to achieve/maintain Lexcel accreditation, the Law Society’s practice management quality mark.
