Dedicated VAT expert joins G&E

VAT expert Jane Roffey with Nick Scull head of Tax at Garbutt & Elliott

Garbutt & Elliott chartered accountancy firm has recruited a dedicated VAT expert, with 25 years experience in her field.

Jane Roffey, a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), joins the York office of Garbutt & Elliott after 11 years at Ernst & Young.

Jane's career started out at HM Revenue & Customs, followed by several years with a couple of the big four firms and a further spell with a middle tier firm as VAT and Charities Partner before returning to Ernst & Young.

She will be working with the firm's head of tax Nick Scull, who said: "Jane's extensive experience will be invaluable to our clients and I am delighted to welcome her to our growing tax department."

Jane specialises in land and property, charities, education, partial exemption and negotiations on behalf of clients in dealings with HMRC.

She said: "I am delighted to be joining a leading independent firm with such an excellent reputation and I look forward to working with Garbutt & Elliott's clients."
