SPECIALIST INDUSTRIAL HOSE SUPPLIER SOLD IN YORKSHIRE DEAL

Garbutt & Elliott have advised in both the sale and acquisition of a leading distributor of specialist hoses and pneumatic control systems by its founders and sole shareholders.  Ansa Hose Systems, Goole, which was launched in 1985, has been sold for a substantial but undisclosed sum. 

The company, built up by Patrick and Christa Harlington after a buy-out from a Leeds business, has been acquired by Fentech Holdings Ltd, Woodlesford, Leeds in a deal advised by Garbutt & Elliott’s Leeds office and funded by the Manchester office of Venture Finance.

Ansa Hose Systems, which sources specialised hoses from throughout the world for supply into high-pressure manufacturing and food processing applications across the industrial spectrum, supplies many household name businesses including Nestle, Guardian Glass and Conoco.

As the company grew, it created 12 jobs and opened branches in Hull and Sheffield.

Former company secretary Patrick Harlington, says: “It was always our plan to sell Ansa Hose Systems a couple of years down the line but Fentech’s offer was one of two approaches to come out of the blue and it turned out to be one we could not refuse.”

Christa Harlington, who was formerly Ansa Hose Systems Ltd managing director, is to stay with the business under new ownership as a consultant while Patrick Harlington is to concentrate on sister company, Ansa Business Development, which provides a range of mentoring and business development services.
