A Yorkshire based tile manufacturer has been acquired by its management in a deal worth £5.4m. Genesis APS, based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, is involved in the design, manufacture and marketing of floor tiles and exports more than 50 percent of it’s products overseas. Managing Director Aidan Bruce, an existing shareholder in the company has acquired the remaining shares in a deal supported by Yorkshire Bank. In the UK and Ireland Genesis is the number one supplier to the independent ceramic tile retailers and merchants with a 25 percent market share. Mr Bruce Said, “This is a very exciting period in the development of Genesis and we envisage major growth in the next ten years as we bring new products to market. “The genesis range of finishing profiles is unique. Not only is it the largest in the world, but it is the result of years of interaction with professional tile fixers and designers.” The management buyout team was advised by Paul Berwin, of Harrogate solicitors Berwin and Richard Feltham, corporate finance director at the Leeds office of Garbutt & Elliott. |
