Accountants have Iron Efficiency

How many does it take to build an indestructible armoured superhero? Answer: One York accountancy company and a lot of investors.

Garbutt & Elliott, of York, has helped to fund the latest Hollywood blockbuster Iron Man 2, which opened at cinemas in the city this week.

Clients of Garbutt & Elliott’s wealth management team have contributed more than £8 million to the film, which stars Robert Downey Jnr, Samuel L Jackson and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Jeremy Gibbs, director of G&E Wealth Management, said: “This was an unusual and exciting investment, which played an important part in funding a very high-profile film.

“Our core business is regulated investments and pensions but these niche investments are part of our strategy to deliver alternative investments to clients where it meets their risk and tax profile.
