This article appeared in the York Press on Thursday 1st May 2008. York Expertise Secures Buyout
Two major professional services firms in York have played a crucial role in securing the successful future of CSE International, the specialist safety and quality control consultants to the transportation industry. Garbutt & Elliott, the York chartered accountancy practice, together with the York office of northern law firm Dickinson Dees advised on a Management Buy-Out (MBO), which has kept ownership of CSE within the company. This follows the retirement of the Chief Executive, Dr Phil Bennett. Over its 24 year history CSE has built an enviable reputation for its specialist knowledge of systems assurance, safety and quality management contributing to major airport, air traffic control and railway projects around the world. Projects such as the development of the Mass Transit Railways of Hong Kong and Singapore, airports including Chek Lap Kok in Hong Kong, Incheon International Airport in South Korea and London Heathrow and the Channel Tunnel have all benefitted from CSE’s expertise. Alan McCartney, the Managing Director who led the MBO, commented: “With an excellent management team and some of the best specialists in our field, CSE will continue our work in ensuring the integrity of the systems and software that are vital to our clients’ operations, safety and security wherever they are in the world.” |
