We continuously look to recruit ambitious and enthusiastic Apprentices and Graduate trainees into the Firm, with these trainees completing specific accountancy or tax related qualifications. A brief overview of these qualifications is as follows:
AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)
Our AAT Apprentices complete this qualification over the course of 3 years via Kaplan (our training provider). They also receive valuable on-the-job training and experience, technical and soft skills training. The students have regular reviews with a Kaplan Assessor, and can discuss any areas they feel that they would like to receive further tuition or on-the-job experience.
ACA (Association of Certified Accountants)/ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
Our ACA trainees complete this qualification over the course of 3 years via Kaplan. Our ACCA students complete this qualification over the course of 3 years, again via Kaplan. Alongside their professional qualification training students also receive on-the-job training and experience, technical and soft skills training.
ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians)/CTA (Chartered Tax Advisor)
ATT students complete the qualification via Kaplan, as do our CTA students. Alongside their professional qualification training students also receive on-the-job training and experience, technical and soft skills training.
All students have a study plan provided to them by the Firm, which clearly sets out the structure of their qualification courses/papers over the training period.
By working closely with our training provider, we ensure that all our students receive the best possible training and support. Students are able to request additional support from their tutors, have the on-going support from their Mentor and our HR team and are encouraged to provide feedback on their training in the interests of looking at ways we can improve how this is delivered.
We are proud to be an ICAEW Authorised Training Employer, an ACCA Platinum Approved Employer and an AAT Accredited Employer, having achieved these statuses through our commitment to providing exceptional training and support to our students.
When recruiting trainees we work with local schools and Universities to enable us to source candidates from the local area.
We are able to consider requests from Sandwich Placement students wishing to join us from a University on a 12 month placement, with the placement taking place in our York office.
Work Experience Placements
We also aim to offer work experience placements twice a year, usually in April and September, and occasionally offer internships during the summer. These placements are normally carried out in our York office.
