We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our dedicated team.  This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week) however we will consider candidates seeking a part time role.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on client service, working to deadlines and have good attention to detail. You will be required to work to time budgets and communicate directly with clients, as well as with the client manager internally.

Bookkeeper main duties include:

Processing transactions including:

  • Purchase ledger
  • Sales ledger
  • Nominal ledger
  • Payroll journals
  • Bank posting and reconciliations
  • Credit cards
  • Petty cash

Reconciliation of:

  • Bank accounts
  • Credit cards
  • PAYE/NIC and wages
  • Petty cash
  • VAT

Calculation and posting of:

  • Depreciation from asset registers
  • Accruals
  • Prepayments and accrued income

Preparation of VAT returns for submission to HMR&C

Liaising with clients to resolve queries

The ideal candidate will be fully AAT qualified, however this is not an essential qualification.

The role will include regularly travelling to client premises, therefore it would be beneficial to hold a full driving licence and have your own transport.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of VAT, including different VAT schemes
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience – Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Ability to work as part of a team and alone
  • Knowledge of major accounting software packages including Sage and/or Xero
  • Ability to work to deadlines and budgets
